If you want to look glam but need some help doing your hair and makeup…
If you don’t have time to block out a full hour (or more!) at the salon…
If you don’t want to spend an exorbitant amount of money to look good for one event…
I feel you. And I have a solution for you.
A few weeks ago, I tried out the GSQ by Glamsquad beauty services at a CVS BeautyIRL store, and now I’m obsessed! I love getting my hair and makeup done (mainly because I’m not great at either myself), but it takes a lot of time and money. The services offered at the CVS BeautyIRL stores, on the other hand, offer something that’s quick and affordable without sacrificing quality.
More than 50 new BeautyIRL stores recently launched across the country in key markets, including New York, Miami, Boston, Los Angeles and more! If you want to find a store near you, you can search for one by clicking the link here.

WHAT IS CVS BEAUTYIRL & GSQ BY GLAMSQUAD?
CVS BeautyIRL is a new interactive store format that features an expanded beauty section and express beauty services through an exclusive partnership with Glamsquad, a beauty and technology company.
The expanded beauty section features new indie/social brands such as Pixi, Burt’s Bees, and Yes To; product testers and hygiene stations, and a “mini must-have” boutique with the ability to curate your own bag of travel-size samples.
Meanwhile, beauty pros trained by Glamsquad will be on hand to take care of your hair and makeup needs. The CVS x Glamsquad partnership (called GSQ by Glamsquad) provides customers easier access to salon-quality services and products at an affordable price point. You can get your hair braided while waiting for your prescription to be filled, or pick up snacks after getting your makeup done!
WHAT SERVICES ARE OFFERED
Services vary by location, but offerings can include:
- Dry styling (straight, waves, curls, braids, buns, ponytails, etc)
- Makeup application
- Hair and makeup tutorials
- Studex ear piercings (one of the most popular services, according to my stylist!)
A majority of the services take less than 30 minutes and cost less than $30. What a deal!
WHAT TO EXPECT
The process is super easy! If you’re at CVS BeautyIRL to shop, simply head to the beauty section and try new products/pick out your favorites.
If you’re there for a beauty service, head to the Glamsquad service station, which looks like a styling station at the hair salon with a chair and mirror. There will be a stylist there to greet you. Let them know you have an appointment and they’ll bring you over to the register, where you’ll pay. Then they’ll set you up at the service station, do your hair and/or makeup, and voila! You’re picture-perfect in half an hour or less.
HOW TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT
Appointments are highly recommended for GSQ by Glamsquad services.
Search for a CVS BeautyIRL store near you using the store locator by inputting your zip code. Select your preferred store and click “book now.” Choose your service, input your personal information, and you are confirmed!
Although I’m not a beauty guru, I love beauty, so I’m really excited about the CVS BeautyIRL concept! I’m already a loyal CVS customer and go there at least once a week to stock up on snacks and daily essentials, so it’s great to have a one-stop shop where I can get beauty services, Korean skincare, and Cheetos all in one place. I mean, that’s basically all you need in life.
Plus, while I’ll always enjoy a pampering salon experience, my schedule is so crazy I often don’t have time to set aside two hours for the salon. That’s why I haven’t cut my hair in almost a year (don’t tell anyone). GSQ by Glamsquad’s express services for people on the go. In fact, I got my hair dry styled with waves right an hour before I left for the airport – and I arrived at my gate with time to spare.
In terms of the actual service, I loved my waves! I asked the stylish for beachy waves with some texture and volume, and she delivered. She was super sweet and gave some great insight into the products she was using, such as the GSQ by Glamsquad dry shampoo, Volumizing Texture Spray, and adjustable titanium curling wand. I love that you can buy all these products at the store and bring them home with you to recreate it on your own!
Because it’s dry styling, they won’t wash or wet your hair, which cuts down on the time spent in the stylist’s chair. I was in and out in 30 minutes, and received several compliments on my waves while I was en route to the airport to boot.
Verdict: Highly recommend visiting a CVS BeautyIRL store and trying one of the GSQ by Glamsquad services!
